Rest. How much is really enough?

Be honest, how long has it been since you got a full 10 hours of sleep? I know that as a young adult it can be so hard to balance work, education, socialising, having hobbies and staying healthy. Yet apparently we as humans are supposed to fit all these elements of daily life into a 24 hour window - and this leads to our precious nighttimes to take the hit. Personally, whenever I need to finish some work or go to the gym, I will always choose to just go at night, but I had never really thought about how much these simple changes can impact our brains.

The average 20 year old is recommended up to 400 mg of caffeine a day.  That is about 4 cups of coffee, or 10 diet cokes or 2.5 Iced Lattes from Starbucks. Those figures can seem scary, especially considering how easy it can be to surpass them: a coke here, two teas there, and don't forget that Pumpkin Spiced Latte from the drive through! As a society, these products are so simple to get ahold of - but they should not be. Caffeine has many benefits, and are really helpful for keeping energy high, but it has some strong weaknesses too. Excessive caffeine can lead to anxiety, insomnia, digestive distress and elevated heart pressure.

Is my caffeine addiction actually concerning?
